Staff Selection Commission (SSC)’s Combined Graduate Level Exam will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:
- Tier -I -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
- Tier -II -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
- Tier -III -- Personality Test /Interview/Computer Proficiency Test or Skill Test TIER I
- Tier –I exam consist of only one paper that would be common for all categories of posts and will be held in one session.

SKILL TEST- Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for post of Assistant in CSS only. This test is of qualifying nature and has components of Word Processing, Spread Sheets and generation of slides.

There is no separate cut-off for Tier II. It is calculated on the basis of total sum of Tier I + Tier II marks. So, if you secure better marks in Tier I, it can give you some leeway in Tier II.

Interview cut-off - cut off for interview was 25 marks for General and 20 for all others in 2012 exam. You had to secure these marks to get any interview post.
Cut-off for CPT - Computer Proficiency Test(CPT) and Data Entry Speed Test(DEST) are basically elimination techniques.
- For Module-1 (MS Word/Typing test) Cut-off means that upto this percentage, mistakes are allowed by candidates.
Genral OBC SC ST OH,VH,HH Ex.S Cut-off 5% 7% 7% 15% 15% -
- For Module 2 and 3 (Powerpoint and Excels sheet) minimum marks have to be secured. Cut-off for General candidates was 120 and for all other candidates was 100 marks. These marks are total marks obtained in Module 2 and 3, not separately.
